Aspen Culture transportable training pack

The Aspen Culture Project produced 5 training packs in March 2011 which are available to use.

You can access it at: www.aspenculture.org.uk/trainingpack

The packs aim to raise understanding, awareness and develop skills of practitioners and groups around issues of race and gender equality with a particular focus on immigration and the use of arts and culture as a tool.

The sources used in the training package were all created by a diverse group of women who took part in the group work within the Aspen Culture Project.

There are 5 packs tailored specifically to the needs of different organisations and individuals and each pack has a different target group. Please note all activities could be adapted to use in different learning settings.

Sharing Similarities, Celebrating Differences Training

The Aspen Culture Project Volunteers from Tees Valley worked from October 2009 – March 2010 to developed and deliver an interactive multimedia training package for help organisations from the cultural, heritage and arts sector to understand the needs of women from new communities in the North East and explore the new definitions of Britishness.

The training was delivered to 15 organisations in Tees Valley and Tyneside with 30 attendees in total. We used interactive methods like drama, film and photography as stimulus for conversation and reflection.
